Mining Museum

The Mining Museum and viewing level were opened in March 2003 on the former day level. The museum includes examples of minerals from the fluorite deposits, the tools and aids used for mining, maps, and photographs that document work at the local deposit. The viewing level is approximately 1000 m in length, and the track leading through the typical surroundings of an ore mine is piled with chippings and lit. The average annual temperature is 10 - 12° C. Visitors are provided with safety helmet and coat and can see complete mining machinery, mine trucks, an accumulator locomotive, a mine loader, and so on. A tour with the narration of a guide takes about one hour as visitors get to know work in the ore mines of days gone by.
