Sindelka

The exhibition of forestry and hunting is accomodated in a granite building, known in Harrachov as "Sindelka". Shingles were manufactured here from the beginning of 19th century until the mid-thirties of 20th century. The last 60.000 shingles manufactured in 1934 was used for old Labska bouda.

The exposition of forestry presents to the visitor all the problems of forestry, from clearance of the forest vegetation to its modification, transport of trunks to further processing and the following revitalisation of the forest and its care.

Exposition of hunting is dedicated to the game-keeping from history till nowadays: it e.g. reminds the hunting traditions, game, hunting guns and dogs, hunting in arts and in common life. Popular attraction for kids is the area "game parks for hibernation", where a couple of forest animals got together around the rack with a different kind of food. There is deer, roebuck, wild boar, fox, hare and birds - altogether 14 of skins. You can count 32 of the skins in the entire exposition.
