Suchardův dům (Suchard's house) - Town museum

Sucharduv dum (Suchard's house) features exhibitions on history as well as art. The house was built in the Neo-Renaissance style by Antonin Sucharda Jr. in 1895-1896. His family participated in decorating the house, together with the Czech painter Mikolas Ales, who contributed the fresco painting of St. Bozetech. The Sucharda family has a unique history: in virtually every generation since 1770, when Jan Sucharda Sr. was born, every member has been an artist.

In the museum that is situated in Sucharduv dum you will see a wooden Nativity scene and find out more about the town's history and its traditional trades. In the garden you can see a petrified tree - an araucarian, over 8,2 m in length.
